HEL BRAKE AND CLUTCH LINES

The Benefits of Aftermarket Brake Lines

HEL (Hose-Equip Limited) Performance was founded in the UK in 1985 and has been a pioneer in motorcycle brake systems. HEL was the first company to offer PVC covers for their brake lines and continues to introduce innovations such as their exclusive colored stainless steel brake lines and titanium fittings/banjo bolts.

Why you should choose HEL brake lines

Titanium Fittings with your choice of PVC hose color! Stainless Steeling Fittings with your choice of hose AND fitting color!
  • CNC Machined Fittings
  • Stainless Steel Braided Teflon Hoses
  • Smallest "-3" (Dash 3) brake hoses on the market
  • Colored PVC Protective Wipe Clean Covers
  • Lifetime Warranty!

HEL braided brake lines use a Teflon PTFE interior rather than a standard PTFE interior. The use of Teflon allows HEL brake lines to be bent 18,000,000 times before rupturing compared to 750,000 times for competing products. That's 24 times more strength!

HEL braided brake lines can also withstand 18,000 psi without failure. Other braided brake lines can only withstand 5,000 psi (normal motorcycle braking is 800-1,000 psi).

Exceptional design, build quality, premium materials...and to top it off, every HEL Performance brake line kit is backed by HEL's lifetime warranty! Once you've gone to HEL, there's no going back!

The Importance of Braided Brake Lines

Installing stainless steel braided brake lines should be one of the first purchases for ANY sportbike. (Can you guess the second modification?...FRAME SLIDERS! Totally unsexy but absolutely smart.) Replacing the crappy OEM rubber brake lines has two major benefits: eliminating brake fade and reducing your bike maintenance.

Safety first: Eliminating dangerous brake fade

  • Brake fade is the loss of braking power when your brake system overheats. When you apply your brakes, brake fluid is forced through the rubber brake hoses, squeezing your brake calipers and causing you to decelerate. A by-product of the braking action is HEAT which is bad for your brake lines. As the brake fluids heats up, so do your OEM rubber lines. Hot rubber lines will expand when the brakes are applied - instead of channeling the fluid towards your calipers, they expand outwards, robbing you of valuable braking power.
  • Stainless steel braided brake lines don't expand when heated by your brake fluid. You will get maximum braking power regardless of the time spent riding. These brake lines may save your life one day.

Easy Maintenance...No Maintenance!

  • OEM rubber brake lines need to be replaced every couple years. Stainless steel brake lines don't need to be replaced - you only need to buy one kit and you are set for life!
