Pre-Preg PRESSED Carbon is the ulitmate in quality.
Super light strong and show quality.
Pieces produced with this method ultimately are beutiful on the outside but also on the inside as well.
This method produces very shiny show quality carbon fiber pieces that have no need to be clear coated unlike just pre-preg pieces used by factory race teams.
Pressed carbon fiber results in flawless pieces that are identical in thickness size all around unlike vacum bagging.
This is accomplished by making a mold (injection type) mold, that has a 1.0 mm space between the male and female plug therefore producing a flawless product.
Parts are produced from 4-Layers , yes that is FOUR layers of carbon fiber only! Additional layers might be carbon-kevlar aramid for further strenghtening but only in key areas such as mounting points and possible weak breaking points and around mosts or all sides!
Fiberglass is actually not fiberglass at all rather 3-4 layers of Carbon-Kevlar with White Primer.
Product Description
This is a high quality one-piece lower. All lowers are AMA-approved enclosed belly pans and can hold 4L/4QT of oil. Our
bodywork uses stock mounting points and most parts have drilling points clearly indicated on the bodywork. All mounting points
are reinforced with carbon kevlar to provide exceptional strength - an industry first by OPP!
Installation or Technical Notes
- A minimum of 10 Dzus Fasteners are required. This lower must be purchased with a complete body kit.
Fiberglass
- Fiberglass parts are made with iso-ester resin which is more flexible and durable than polyester resin.
- Finishes are smooth, pin-hole free and ready to sand and paint.
Carbon Fiber
- Read more about the importance of epoxy resin and carbon fiber in our article entitled Carbon Fiber 101.
- Carbon Fiber, Carbon Kevlar and Titanium Silver parts are made with epoxy resin which is highly flexible, has a clear finish
and does not spider-crack. Epoxy resins are superior to polyester resins in every way.
- Only Carbon Fiber, Carbon Kevlar or Titanium Silver is used in our bodywork - we don't cheat by using hidden layers of
fiberglass!
OPP Recommendations
- Thermal Protection Kit - Protect your lower from exhaust header
heat discoloration! Our AMA-approved lowers don't have header cut-outs to vent heat. Don't let your carbon fiber or expensive
paint job get ruined! Highly recommended!
- Dzus Fasteners - All bodywork requires Dzus
Fasteners to connect the lowers to the uppers. Quick Release D-Ring fasteners direct from England! Recommended with purchase
of lowers and uppers.
