This installation guide was created by OPP Racing to help you install the carbon fiber airbox and carbon fiber throttle body bracket for the Ducati 1098&1198. This guid is intended to used only for reference for insillation of these components and not others. We are not liable for any damage due to improper instillation. This is not a substitue for a profesional mechanic.

 

Components Required:

Carbon Fiber EVR Air Box for Ducati 1098-1198

Carbon Fiber Throttle Body Bracket

 

Tools Required:

8mm wrench

8mm 1/4 drive socket

1/4 drive ratcket

1/4 drive extension

flat head screwdriver

6mm allen key

8mm allen key

8mm torx key

Blue LockTite

Clear Silicone sealant

Needle Nose Pliars

 

Part A: Stock Airbox Removal

 Step 1: Remove fairings and disconnect battery

Step 2: Remove fuel tank from bike, making sure to discontect the "in" and "out" quick disconnect lines from the fuel pump. Also disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump assembly.

Step 3: Now the airbox will be exposed. You now need to remove the stock airducts from the airbox and remove them from the bike. Remove the stock airfilter from the airbox. Take care to prevent anything from entering the airduct openings as this can enter the engine and cause serious problems.

Step 4: Remove the pressure sensor on the top and front sides of the airbox.

Step 5: Loosen the clamps on the rubber boots that go from the airbox to the engine. You can now losen and lift the airbox away from the engine

Step 6: Once the airbox is free ofthe einge you also will need to remove the clamp that holds the fuel lines to the airbox at the rear and the clamp that holds the throttle cables in place on the front of the airbox.

Step 4: You now need to flip the airbox over and begine the removal of the throttle body bracket and throttle body assembly.
